How often should you review your home insurance?
It's smart to review your home insurance at least once a year, such as when your annual renewal notice arrives. But, whenever you make expensive purchases such as jewelry, antiques or art, contact us as soon as possible. It sometimes makes sense to insure these items seperately on your policy by scheduling them. Also contact us if there has been any major renovations or additions added to your home.
Is a child added to my policy when he/she gets a learner's permit or a driver's license?
Young drivers are added as soon as they receive a driver's license. To be on the safe side, we recommend calling us before your child gets behind the wheel. Here are some ways young drivers can hold down the cost of auto insurance: complete driver's training, keep a clean driving record, be a part-time driver on the parent's policy, drive a conservative vehicle and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Can I pay my premiums by echeck or credit card?
Yes, customers now have the option of paying their premium by phone or online by echeck, debit or credit card. Our insurers accept Visa or MasterCard. Safeco also accepts Discover and American Express.
